The Golf turfs in Kolkata are famous for their lush green texture and the other subsidiary amenities. Kolkata houses three 18-hole golf course namely The Royal Calcutta Golf which happens to be the first golf club to be made outside Great Britain, Fort William and Tollygunge Club.

Calcutta Race Course
This happens to be one of the largest in the world and is a place that definitely should be in your ‘must-visit’ list. Winters are the perfect time when you can catch the derby and bet on your favorite horses. The racing seasons are from July and until September and from November and until March.

Nicco Park and Wet O’ Wild
This is an amusement park situated in Salt Lake and can be termed as the Disneyland of Kolkata. There are innumerable thrilling rides and a place that kids would surely enjoy. Some rides would give you an adrenaline rush as well.

Wet O’ Wild is the newest water park of this city and one of the best as well. The best part about this park is the presence of an artificial beach along with many thrilling rides and arrangement for rain dance under a dome that gives the natural rain effect. There is also a waterfall.

This is the first water park of the city and hence, holds a special place in the heart of its people. Located in Rajarhat, this huge water park is perfect hangout spot if you are visiting during the summers.

Rabindra Setu-Howrah Bridge
This bridge is one of the busiest bridges in the world and its construction got completed in the 1943. Made of high tensile steel, this bridge has to bear the weight of more than 80,000 vehicles and more than 1, 000,000 pedestrians daily.

Vidyasagar Setu-Second Hooghly Bridge
This is yet another bridge on the river Ganges that connects Kolkata with its twin city named Howrah. It is a cable-stayed bridge and the longest of its kinds in India and one of the longest in the entire continent of Asia.

Victoria Memorial
Victoria Memorial was built by Lord Curzon in memory of the Indian Empress Queen Victoria after she died in 1901. It was first opened for the public in the year 1921 was designed by William Emerson and the architectural costs were around 10.5 million. Marble Palace
Built by Raja Rajendra Mullick with more than 90 varieties of marble, this is yet another place that has history associated with it. There are beautiful chandeliers, huge statues, art treasures and many age-old original paintings.

If you want to know the history of Kolkata, this is the best place to be. Guided tours in English, Bengali and Hindi are conducted as you look at the models, artefacts, paintings that have been preserved here.

Indian Museum
It is the largest museum in Asia and the oldest one in Asia-Pacific region. It has the largest collection of Indian natural history and Indian Art. The dinosaur and meteorite hall inside the Geology section is a must-see. The Government Art College and the headquarters of Anthropological Survey of India are in the same building. The museum has a library consisting of books which are of high historical value.

National Library of India
The National library is located in Alipore and is one of the leading public library. It was inaugurated in 1836 by the Governor General. The main source of books was through public donation and monetary donation by proprietors. It was initially a partial public library and its main was to collect and record all the books about India at one single place.

Academy of Fine arts
This is one of the finest art societies in the country and also one of the oldest. There is a lot to see here for the art lovers as there is unique collection of art made by Rabindranath Tagore and Jamini Roy. There are various other exhibits as well.

Birla Planetarium
This is one of the largest in the world and the largest in South-east Asia. The astronomical shows and a mini-tour of Kolkata are the specialties of this place.

Movies and theatres
Kolkata theatre has always been in the limelight since time immemorial. It is home to some of the most famous artists of the country starting from poets and theatre personalities to singers and film artists.
